Sharmeen is an Advanced Standing Master of Social Work student in the Social Justice and Diversity stream at the University of Toronto. Originally from Vancouver, BC, she completed her Bachelor of Social Work at Nicola Valley Institute of Technology (NVIT), an Indigenous university. She has worked at a delegated Aboriginal child protection agency under the Ministry of Children and Family Development. Passionate about social justice, she is committed to working alongside Indigenous communities, families, and youth in ways that honor their knowledge, strengths, and self-determination.
