Promise U Now is a Child and Youth Care practitioner who is passionate about creating therapeutic relationships with young Black women and girls. She currently holds an Advanced Diploma, Bachelor of Arts, and Master of Arts in Child and Youth Care. She has over 6 years of experience in the field, working in anti-human trafficking programs, and promoting mental health awareness and life skills development for youth aged 8 to 24. She has worked in the mental health, education, youth justice, and live-in treatment milieus. She has been a part of the Youth Wellness Lab since February 2022. Her research interests surround the experiences of young Black mothers and their involvement with the child welfare system in Ontario. Promise loves listening to podcasts and enjoys self-reflection activities.
